“Men still have trouble recognizing that a woman can be complex, can have ambition, good looks, sexuality, erudition, and common sense. A woman can have all those facets, and yet men, in literature and drama, seem to need to simplify women, to polarize us as either the whore or the angel. That sensibility is prevalent, even to this day.” (Endless list of perfect people: Natalie Dormer)

HOW THE FUCK ARE THESE BABIES SWIMMING I AM 21 AND CANNOT SWIM THIS IS SOME FUCK SHIT
Babies instinctively know when to hold their breathes! Babies are amazing
what
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!? I HAVE TO HOLD MY NOSE AND THIS BABY DOESN’T HAVE TOO!?
What shitty parent discovered this
babies are naturally able to swim hello they just spent nine moths in amiotic fluid this is instinctive so no, parent is not shitty, parent is re-enforcing baby’s natural instinctive behaviour.
parent is good for doing this because parent is basically saying “yes the behaviours you were born with are great!”
Also helps condition the babies so they don’t build up a fear of swimming in deep water that is prevalent in a lot of people later on.
Hell, they hold baby swimming classes at my local swimming pool, and at every other swimming pool I’ve gone to in Australia. Babbies are taught how to hold their breath, not fear the water, and how to move their bodies instinctively towards the surface. I even went to these lessons, so did my family!
Up until they’re about (some less or more) eighteen months old a babies lungs will close off, as will the flap that seperates the airways from the part the food goes down(Which works when we swallow food and what not), and the water will go in to the stomachs if they try to breath in. a baby’s body will naturally do this like a habit.
